2006 Nobel Laureate Lectures
Please mark your calendars for Friday, June 9, 2:00 p.m. Two Nobel Prize winners, Dr. Alan J. Heeger, University of California, Santa Barbara and Dr. Alan G. MacDiarmid, University of Pennsylvania and University of Texas at Dallas, will be presenting seminars in room 1080 Physics Research Building, 191 W. Woodruff Avenue. Both are recipients of the 2000 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Following is the schedule:
2:00-3:00 p.m. Dr. Alan J. Heeger, University of California, Santa Barbara
"Plastic" Electronics and Optoelectronics
3:00-4:00 p.m. Dr. Alan G. MacDiarmid, University of Pennsylvania and University of Texas at Dallas
"Continuing Studies on a New Class of Material Obtained by Aqueous Oxidative Polymerization of Aniline: The Azanes"
4:00-5:00 p.m. Reception - Atrium, Physics Research Building
Both Nobel Prize winners will each be receiving an honorary doctorate degree from The Ohio State University at the June 11 Commencement ceremony.
There will be cookies and coffee provided before the seminars. The seminars will be followed by a reception with refreshments and hors d'oeuvres from 4:00 -5:00 p.m. Please RSVP to Jenny Finnell at finnell.2@osu.edu if you plan to attend the reception at 4:00 following the two seminars.
